The completed window shows King Charles I, after a portrait by Sir Anthony Van Dyke, which hangs in Windsor Castle. The King is crowned and holds the orb and sceptre. Above are a celestial crown and palm branches.

Lt J H Moriarty (in his will) More...

"Lieut. J.H. (Jackl) Moriarty R.S.A (Royal Siege Artillery) was the only son of the Reverend James Henry Moriarty, Vicar of Dorney (1914-1927). Jack Moriarty served in France with the 2nd Siege Battery in 1914. He was wounded and mentioned in despatches.
During his convalescence at home, he sketched a design for a stained glass window. In his will he made provision for the completion and insertion of such a window - "in Dorney Church, in the south wall, under the gallery, to contain a figure of Charles, King & Martyr."
Lieut. Moriarty returned to the front and was killed on 12th October 1915 while serving with 18th Siege Battery, R.S.A. He was buried at Bethune aged 22 years and 8 months.
